Equality and Human Rights

This strand of MEHRP:

  • provides an equality and human rights advice and information service, which service users can access through individual appointments or adult education group work;
  • delivers equality and human rights training for organisations so that they can support people with protected characteristics to become aware of, access and uphold their rights and protections;
  • develops case studies about the experiences of people with protected characteristics from our equality and human rights service so that they can be used to inform wider policy and practice.

Advice and Information

The advice and information provides service users with:

  • an increased understanding of their rights and protections in relation to the equality and human rights issue(s) that they are facing;
  • advice and information that they can use to raise their concern or complaint;
  • an increased awareness of further support services relevant to the issue(s) that they are facing.

Training for Organisations

The training provides organisations with:

  • an increased understanding of how to support their service users to become aware of, access and uphold their rights and protections;
  • information about equality and human rights support services that they can use to signpost their service users;
  • access to further equality and human rights resources to continue their own learning and development.
