Removing barriers to equality by building digital literacy
Digital inclusion means everyone can access and use digital technology and the internet in ways that are affordable, safe and meaningful. It covers reliable connectivity, suitable devices, accessible software and services, and the skills and confidence to use them. When digital inclusion works, people can access education, employment, health services, public services and social connection without barriers, reducing inequality and strengthening community participation.
This 4-session course takes place over 4 weeks and aims to remove barriers to inclusion through digital skills development. Attendees will receive an introduction to using technology, practical tips to staying safe and secure online, information on how to access online resources and services, and guidance on how to plan travel and transport.
Sessions are completely free, and attendees will receive a certificate on full attendance and completion of the course.
The course helped me understand how to stay safe online while accessing services.
